I haven't been on this site for a while. So, hopefully, this thought hasn't already been offered. In February, 2011, Allis-Chalmers Energy merged with Seawell to form a specialist drilling and well service company named Archer. And from what I had understood, at that time Allis-Chalmers Energy owned the rights to the "Allis-Chalmers" name and AC logo. If this is all true, would the Allis-Chalmers name and logo be available to be purchased by say AGCO or some other interested party for a new product line?

You think agco would really be interested? Ha ha. It seems they've tried to distance themselves as much as possible from the A-C name and heritage.

It's so tied up in litigation. I bet whoever makes tractors in Allis Chalmers name could be liable for all the pensions that weren't paid.

Besides who would want to see the name used with the modern junk they would probably force on it just like the modern farmall tractors makes me sad to see those things... I think the past should be left there let us remember them for what they where.

Briggs and Stratton had a deal with someone to build AC lawn tractors a few years ago.  Don't think they are selling them anymore.  Must have had some kind of legal agreement to keep them from being sued by former AC employees.

Maybe after trump gets elected we can start making small tractors again in the states and one of those companies can pick up the name? One can hope .....

If it was easy to get the name on a tractor again it would have been done already by a China tractor co

They didn't sell. Think about it, Allis-Chalmers has been gone for 31 years, most people don't know who they were. People tend to buy names they know, and the number of people who know Allis-Chalmers, gets to be less each year. The local agco dealer ordered in one, and I think he is still sitting on it.
