I was wondering the same thing?
My IB doesn't have any type of hitch but i have been looking at them. All of the drawbars that i have seen on IB's look home made.

You are right! The factory IB's had a pindle hitch. We tossed them away and welded a home madedrawbar on them.
Being industrial that was the original hitch. Tool Luck! Bill Long Edited by Bill Long - 13 Jan 2012 at 7:57pm |

Thanks Bill, I have a 4 bolt Pintle hitch from a military truck. Did the Allis pintle hitches look like the ones that you see on old Army trucks?
I am thinking about just putting that on it.

They're pretty rare. I suspect you'll need something in excess of $1000 in value to trade.

Well, I have them, if you want one.... Otherwise, you can hunt for a long time like I did.
I sold two of them to two people on here. They know who they are, and are currently friends. Now what I have struggled with since, is how to sell any more without the previous buyers getting PO'd at me for selling lower. Friendships are more important than money to me, so I don't try to advertise or anything. I have refused to go the eBay or auction route for the same reason. BTW these were so few and far between, no one I asked, had seen one sold. So finally one night, after a set of B front steel sold for $1319, I decided to offer a hitch and see if anybody wanted one. I set the asking price equal to what it would cost to "make" a full steel wheel B out of a regular one. I used the average price for Front Steel, Rear Steel, wide fenders, thick hubs, and a tall air cleaner. It was sold in 15 minutes. I suppose if you had those things, and wanted to trade, I would be happy to. Also, would consider a full IB frame with the Allis grill guard as a trade. The only thing is, you would need to get them to me here in Northeast PA. I included delivery at no extra charge when I sold the ones before. Treating people fair is important to me, and I would scrap the ones I have, rather than wreck a friendship over money. I have told numerous people if they can sell them for higher than I got, more power to you, my price will stay the same. I would make an exception on that if a bona fide owner of an M7 snow tractor was restoring one and needed a hitch, as the ones I have are the stock that the US ordered from Allis Chalmers to support the M7 while they were running them. Good judgment comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgment.
From listening comes wisdom and from speaking comes repentance. Wise men learn more from fools than fools from the wise. |

Glenn, don't scrap them. It's unfortunite for me that market value is out of my legue at this time. And i don't have the things that you are looking for to trade. But it's all about timeing and being at the right place at the right time.
