Finally got my old Allis B-110 going(new coil) and I noticed a weird sound coming from the solid drive shaft. Couldn’t find anything wrong after looking so I kept mowing…. Well the noise went away but the tractor stopped moving no forward no reverse. I looked it over and found the issue in the bevel box housing. I pulled the back plate and sure enough the gears were ground(metal filings in box). Where can I get new gears? Can I put different gears in? Any interchangeable gears from other Allis or Simplicity garden tractors? I’m having a hard time finding bevel gears for this.

It would probably be easier to swap a complete box into it from a donor machine. The box would have to be from a pre '71 tractor, "Foot dragger" with a 3 speed or hydro, the variable drive tractors have a longer cross shaft which is not compatible. The gears themselves are the same from the Simplicity 700/AC B-1 up to the B-200 Series and Simplicity 3200 series. The most common problem I find in these boxes is worn keys, and the input gear wears at the keyway and where it fits onto the input shaft. The input shaft also wears.
