So I came across an article in the regional farm paper about a company that bought up bunches of aerial photos taken over the years and was offering the pics for sale.  Now we have an aerial pic of my dads house from 1965. The  house is right next to the farm.  So I had a hunch they might have that roll of film and thus a pic of the farm. Turns out they did. So below is a pic of part of the little farm I now own. The other acreage is across the street barely shown but you can pick out the hay rake. Biggest crop shown there is probably strawberries (still hate picking them)  You will notice a farm tractor at the top of the smaller tilled field. The bigger framed picture you can see my Dad sitting on it reaching for the throttle. Didnt see this when I reviewed the pic on the net so I was pleasantly surprised when I got the framed photo. Tractor is IH Super C. I own it now.  Company is vintageaerial.com  Very good experience with them.  Can offer you a framed picture based on your budget.

Tom, I've worked with these people also. Great to deal with. Didn't have a picture of the family farm, but were very helpful non the less. Pic looks great!

Thanks Morton...BTW still developing a combine haul.....The one near Titusville may be a no-go as it will need to be torn down.  Will have to offer the owner some more $$ in hopes he will break it down.  Cant haul it overwidth from that far without @#@#@#!!
red tape and a million dollar liability policy....@##$$# gubmint!!
 
Looking at another in Spring Run--- near exit 189 on the turnpike.  Close enough to home that I can get away with the overwidth.

Last year I went through them and found several photos of the farm back in 1980's.  I ordered the print/painting for my sister.  They were very nice.  Trouble is when I got the painting there was a large bubble about the size of a 25 cent coin in one corner.  It looked like when the frame was installed it pinched the corner of the picture making the bubble.  Since this was an expensive gift ($500) for my sister I sent it back to them to repair or replace.  When it was returned it looked like they just pushed down on the bubble and it cracked the surface of the paint.  Looked much worse after they messed with it.  To say I was upset was an under statement.  What idiot would send it back to a customer in worse condition than when they got it?  I told them I wanted a refund and gave them an earful of what I thought of them. (it had been 5 months at this point since I placed the order).  Well the president of the company got involved and they repainted me a new picture, told me to keep the other one and then sent a black and white 8X10 of the original photograph.  Well the second one turned out just dandy and I now have the first one hanging on my wall.  It was plenty good enough for me to place on the wall.  So in the end they made it right.  Just took 6 months.

My parents bought one of our farm taken sometime in the 80's and my farming partner bought one the late 90's when he was living in my farmhouse.  I have both of them now.  Of course I have taken much better photos of my farm from my balloon since then.   The only thing with my ballooning photos are that I have to fly after sunrise or before sunset due to to thermals so I don't  get the best light from the middle of the day so I will give the airplane shot photos some credit.  Mike
