My Daughter and her husband had a load of road tar grinding dropped off and spread where the video shows. This is a blessing that will make chores easier and faster in the wet muddy times. They have insisted in doing so much to make life easier for Shirley and myself. We are both so thankful! |

Dick...take something smooth and drive over it like a car/truck tire. if it is ground up asphalt it will set up when the sun beats down on it, you may get ruts you can't get out when that happens. i found that out the hard way. drive forward and backwards, move over a few inches and do it again. don't use a tractor with lug bar tires, that will make it really rough. if you have a buddy with a small packer, that would be ideal!

Totally agree with others about grading and compacting. Even if you have to bring someone in to do it, you'll be much happier in the long run.

My Son Inlaw owns an asphalt business and has brought his vibrating roller over to roll my lawn. He was grinding off to put down new and sent one of the truckers to my place with some of the finer fresh stuff. He will bring another load later. I think it will be next year as the season is coming to an end soon. I need to grade off more dirt at the north end of the barn to better drain away from the door area. When I get the doors up.
