We got to watch the 8095 play with a plow at Rantoul. My son Allen who is a Komatsu master mechanic and Ethan Daehler discussing finer points of the Komatsu engine. Was the highlight of our day.

What was the story again behind the Komatsu engine? Allis did drop it in or this is a repower?

It was the next "biggest" tractor A-C was going to offer at about the 200 PTO HP level. I believe the range transmission was to have three ranges instead of two, to give the Power Shift chassis more speed selections. I don't know if this prototype was a P.D. or a PST.

Allis put that engine in that tractor and was bring tested at the proving grounds when Deutz bought the company (there were actually 4 built). The engines were removed and sent back to Komatsu, and the tractors were supposed to be scrapped, but 2 escaped. The owner then installed that same model of engine. At that time, Allis was also planning engines from other companies for their entire line up as they did not have the money to design and build new engines, and retool the Harvey engine works. |

I got to talk with Dahler at the show a bit myself. Shot a couple of short clips of the tractor, one plowing. Will get them posted sometime before I die, hopefully. Cool machine!

Looking at pictures and video of the show and it is just crazy the amount of big iron hauled in there for the show. On my bucket list to go and see in person.

Yes the show is big, we were there two full days and didn't see everything there and never went through the swap and sales area. Yes the 8095 had the 4 bottom roll over plow, it hardey knew anything was behind it, the ground at Rantoul pulls HARD.. Allis guys from Wisconsin showed the way at the ITP pull placing 1-2-3.

I would think just walking thru the hauler parking lot might actually be a show in itself when you see some of that stuff being hauled in.

Was the Komatsu considered a good reliable engine?
