7045 tach/electrical issue

   Got a new to us 7045 that’s been shedded for about 13 years.  Used it for an hour or so the other day and the tach and dash lights worked good.  Had to speed up the engine to about 12-1400 to get the tach to come alive.

Today, I ran for about 3 hours and shut down for a little while, went back to start it and lost the tach, the red light for the alternator did not work, and it appears the transmission pressure light quit at the same time.  

To check the light quadrant, I turned on the flashers and the blinkers, the red turn light works in the dash panel.  It has been converted to a delco alternator, so I had tried the screw driver test to wake up the alternator, I got 12.6 volts with both the tractor off and running about half throttle, so I don’t think the alternator is working, but still confused on the transmission pressure light.

Looking for any thoughts on what to check?

	Check your connections at the alternator for the charging issue. Our local automotive store will test an alternator for nothing, but if your connections are good and they have power, then there's likely a problem in the alternator. Also look at the harness connections behind the engine. That may explain the transmission light.

	It looks like I’m going to have to try a new alternator, everything looked good at the connections behind the engine. Would you know where the sending unit is located for the trans pressure light?

	Power director tractors, the sending unit is on the filter base under the radiator. Power shift tractors, the sending unit screws into an elbow on the left hand side of the transmission. It's hard to access that one, because of the left hand fuel tank. You can see it by looking up from underneath the tractor. The sending units don't usually give trouble. Check the light bulb and make sure that the wire is even on the unit.
