i have a 7040 the tempture gauge works but it bounces all over the place some times and holds steady the nexted time. the tach gauage worked when i first got it then it bounced last year but if you turned the cab fan on or turn the key off it would work right. this spring it worked the first day i was in the field and about half way through the evening it dropped to 0 if you turn the key off it will come up to 500 rpm. what do i need to do to fix this? im not good with electronics

Could be bad connection in wiring connector or some where else. Check cab ground from battery ground to cab, right side. Make sure ground wire to all gauges is good. Is fan belts tight and good?    MACK

It could be a bad ground. Have had fuel & temperature gauges act just like that. Ground was bad.

HA your lucky! That was happening to our Versatile 2210 and they talked like they needed to take the whole dash out and send it off to Indy! Computers are great when they work but when they don't...

I got the tach working again. one of the wires on the alternator was broke it seemed to be working good after that plus the air conditioning has never worked better after fixing that. lol but while I was working it started to run rough so I guess I got more to look at. btw the hour meter doesn't move either any idea what that might be?
