My 7020 alternator light started to glow dimly this afternoon. Checked voltage..was 11 volts. Checked batteries some dead cells and others low on water. They have been giving me problems. Went to NAPA to get 2 new ones. Now my light stays off till I speed up the motor. Voltage is 13. Is my alternator also bad/ Thanks mnjoe

Check the ground on the alternator. If that is good, go to the auto store and get a $10 rebuild kit for a delco 10si and put in new brushes and a regulator with new bearings. I did that this past summer to my 7000. Does your 7020 have a delco? If not, then disregard the rebuild part.
