Broke down and bought the CountyLine 7 footer from TSC. No-tax and 12 month free financing, so 2599.99 out the door.
Works great, 1st gear, low range on the hand clutch.
Took the plow off when I got dun practicing. Supposed to get snow on Thursday, again...
Question??, is there a height adjustment for the 3-point? When it's  all the way up, its fine, but I don't like the severe angle its putting on the pto shaft. It would be nice if it would raise the tiller about 6 inches out of the ground and stop. Right now it lifts it off the ground by more than a foot and a half or so. I don't hear any binding, so it's probably OK, just would be better if it didn't lift so high. I know I can stop it at any height, but that takes concentration and stops the flow of tilling. Just up and down would be great. And the linkage is not sensitive like my 8N. Kind of abrupt.

I forgot to mention. Its made by Tarter, that's where I sent the warranty card into.
Also, the skids are all the way up, and what I was tilling is last year's winter rye I planted around September.
Brother went and poked a stick in the new tilled soil and sunk it in about 4 inches.
Tiller kicked up a couple 3 new boulders (5" rocks) that I picked tonight.

Can you put a stop on the lift quadrant? My 8N has an adjustable stop on it, and sometimes it really comes in handy for limiting raising height or drop depth.

This. There's lots of ways to accomplish this if you use your imagination. Adjustable stop, vise grips, a twine from the front, .....

RESIZE THE PIX!!!-----The only thing I see is a corner of a wheel. What is it with you guys not taking 2 seconds to resize pix. so everyone can see what you have?--- 640 x 480 is the needed size!---SHEECH!! --- rant over!

You cant have what your asking for. If raising to high to suite you,lengthen lift links.Otherwise stop raising at desired height. You can't have what your asking for.

I came to that simple solution when I was sleeping last night. LOL.
It's not like a 8N, which has the wing nutted tabs to position the lift depth and height.
I will lengthen the arms and keep the old ones for when higher is needed.

Don't need an air cleaner in the winter...
The air cleaner guts were rusted out (definitely not stainless steel wool in there) and rust dust and parts were going into the engine when I got it last year.
I will get one on there before we put it to use..
Not a fan of oil bath, or K&N for that matter. I will think of something.

doesnt the threepoint arms need to be hooked to the the drawbar for the draft (traction booster) to work , pretty hard to beat an oil bath air cleaner

You are correct on both points, however, not sure you need traction boost for a tiller, and if anyone followed the oil bath instructions, then yes, but not too many do.
The tractor came with that 3-point setup. I am looking for a original snap coupler draw bar 3-point assembly currently..
I have one piece of equipment that calls for changing to oil in the oil bath every hour in dirty environments, and another that calls for every 3 hours. Not going to happen nowadays.
Put a nice Kubota assembly on my 8N. Once a year or every other year, change to filter.
Just sayin,

I’ll admit, I’ve never operated a D series tractor, but isn’t the lift lever on a quadrant by the steering wheel, like the WD/WD45? You can’t just make a stop to clamp onto the quadrant so the lever will only go so far? Like was said earlier, a pair of vise grips would work fairly well for that I think.
Surely it’s not like a B/C system where every time you release the lever, it returns to a neutral position. I don’t care for that at all. It’s not “bad” but I like the quadrant style better.
As to the oil bath… I thought you were supposed to check them every 10 hours. All of my tractors have oil bath filters, and I will admit I only check them about once a year, After harvest. Even though I do use them for about 20 acres of combining, mowing, and light tillage work, the oil stays almost as clean as when I poured it in. My 8N has a cyclone pre-cleaner on it, which makes a huge difference. It will catch quite a bit of dirt in a day of running the combine. I think they had a similar pre-cleaner for the D series

I went to TSC and bought two adjustable links. The home made ones currently were 18" pin to pin, the new ones are adjustable 18" to 25". I have them at around 22" and now the tiller comes up around 6 inches. Perfect..
I'll have to post a picture later,
