I was trying to get my taxh working on my 200. Ordered alt with taxh drive and found out when I received it it had wrong gears. It had 14 and 43 so I switched out to the 12 45. Pull that came on alt was wrong size 3 5/8 instead of 3. No big deal just switched with my old one. New cable. Hooked it all up and found out old tach was junk, so I ordered a new one. Hooked up everything and it read way too fast. Like 2500 when I was at 2000. So I switched to the bigger pull and I'm still running right at 200 rpms too fast. What's going on?????

I am going through the same thing did you get the alternator from Kingsport Tenn? I was going to call them Monday and see what they sayI have counted the same teeth you have. I feel like it is right at idle but wide open it will bury the tach.

No I got it from the m yesterday's tractor. I'm thinking of putting on a pulley of 4 1/8 diameter and that should make it right. It just doesn't make sense to run a pulley 1 inch bigger to read right.

The 14/43 is a 3.07 to 1 ratio........the 12/45 is 3.75 to 1 ratio which is the slower of the two gear sets.  The 3 5/8" pulley would be about 17% slower than the 3 inch pulley.
