Hello there, having an intermittent issue with track power loss on my hd4. It will push like a SOB until it’s spinning the tracks and then some times it will push into a bank and act like it’s in neutral or not fully engaged. Same with reverse, it will climb a tree backwards and then all the sudden it won’t pull a sick whore off a piss pot. I noticed messing with the shuttle shifter I can make it work, some of the time.. could it be something in there that would make this happen? (Fingers crossed)
Hot check on the stick was good, fluid color and smell is good, brand new can filter on front of machine. Did not clean suction screen. I just got the machine a couple months ago, only ran it a little bit then as I had to rebuild front idler bushings/shafts and carrier rollers. Any info is appreciated!

Get a 500 psi pressure gauge attached on the shuttle valve and see what the pressure actually is when engaged AND watch and see if the pressure falls off causing your stalling.

Ok I did that, I have the required 240 to 265 psi. I ran the machine some more and if I fiddle with the lever I can usually get it to take off. I think my next step is to pull the valve off and inspect internals? Any other tests I should do before that?

Try checking the set screw, in the lever?Wink

Are you talking about the turnbuckle adjustment? I took the whole valve apart, cleaned it, nothing horrible or noticeable. Put it back together adjusted the turnbuckle, was way out. Put it back on, took a ride and it pushed great, reverse up a tree. Then it started again. It will go good, then it won’t, then it will, so on and so on. Both directions.. what am I missing?

Ok, forward is fixed as far as I can tell, the valve was out of adjustment. Reverse still acting up. Swapped the fwd/rev lines at the valve to see if it was the valve . Reverse still acted up. So, if the reverse clutch was shot would it sometimes work perfect and sometimes not? Anything else to check?
