Right brake is "sticky"/tight....have to pull it back up. How do the D15 brakes work? I have vague memories of working on some tractor brakes (maybe International 424?) where there were two disks with grooves, shallow on one end, deep on the other and when a bearing rolled in that groove it spread the plates apart.
Anyway these brakes have never been great.
I have a manual but see nothing in there about the brakes....any suggestions on resources/info regarding replacement/repair? |

Oil up where the pedal rides on the shaft and make sure the spring under the platform is attached and not broken. Chances are good your problem is there.

If same as D-14 ( pretty sure), both pedals are on a common shaft. 'flush' the 50-60 years of crud( dirt/oil/??) packed in there, then drip oil inbetween, on,ends etc. Done 'right' you'll have to remove the right brake rod, then slide the pedal off. I use 'R' pins or whatever they're called to replace the cotter pins. If you do remove, see about 'shimming' the pedals to take out some of the left-right wobble...

Go to the Agco site and you can look up D 15 brakes . Sure has helped me before . HTH

You're right about the crud. I disconnected the brake pedals and the brakes seem fine....it's that 1" shaft that won't move. The pedal controlling the right brake came right off. It moves on the shaft.
The left brake pedal, however is fastened to the 1" shaft with what appears to be a split roll pin. There is a hole through the brake pedal and the shaft so there must be a roll pin in there but I can't seem to drive it out. If I can get that out, I assume I can drive the 1" shaft completely out the other side and get it all cleaned up.

I never went that far... 1) be sure to wear glasses !!!
2) lots of brake cleaner, squirts of air,rotate the shaft
3) repeat #2 about 5-6 times 4) maybe some oil... back to #2
You 'should' be able to blow the crud out, once it's 'gooey' not 'cruddy'...
Sure goes quicker if you have another person operating the brake pedal..up and down and up and down and up and .......

Yeah the left pedal has a roll pin . Hard to see but I got mine out .

Gave up trying to get the roll pin out and just kept spraying WD40 followed by oil and working the pedals (disconnected which allows much greater freedom of movement) continuously. In a relatively short time, the pedal was free and now everything is fine. Thanks for the suggestions.
