I bought this beautiful old allis Chalmers crawler. The radiator and head were off with most of the parts accounted for. The front piston was froze and in time I was able to remove it. The piston was tore up in the process. The sleeve is pitted and rough and comes out tomorrow, I hope. I sent the head in for a valve job. I should have it back tomorrow. The zenith carb is being rebuilt by a local shop in Cottonwood ca. I think I should have the magneto checked as well? The crawler is in good shape but for the engine. I can’t tell what I have until I get it running. For now I have the manuals and a list of parts as follows, one piston and rings and sleeve, all the gaskets I can get my hands on and a place to send my mag to. I have other part need but that would get it running and then list will probably expand. The frame # WM 3796 and motor #UMA 3917G

the number on this ac crawler engine is UMA9317G but Im unable to reference is number to any active parts list.  Im lost with my rebuild and could use help.  I can answer questions and send pictures.  thank you

Many know more than I about old engines, but think that engine was used in a wheeled tractor of the same time. Maybe a model U , hopefully somebody will know. Because that could open up the parts search a lot.

If you get real desperate just learned of a place making one off pistons in LA Calif, and another was also mentioned. Olson gaskets in Washington state can make head gaskets.

Not to insult you but without a teacher you never learn as fast and easy. Do you know about making paper gaskets with a ball peen hammer. If not look for you tubes explaining the process.

Just looking the Farm Equipment section over and a question on a M radiator cap is showing and it says a model U one should fit. So my guess about a U and M being the same engine is looking better. So maybe ask your M questions there where there is more traffic will get more answers.

mark Pfouts should be able to get you all the gaskets and other parts his number is 440 570 3653

When you get to the manifolds be sure to check the sleeve above the carb, they are well known to disintegrate over the years. Somebody has done a great deal of freeze break repair, that gives it character as long as it doesn't leakWink  I have often wondered for obsolete head gaskets if a person could duplicate the dimensions  on CAD and then cut them from copper and anneal them, add a fine film of RTV and you are in business.  Good luck with your project it will be great.
