Is the engine the same for the 190 and the 190xtIII and the fuel pump also?

Sorry, I don't know the differences, but as a forum suggestion, it'd be a great knowledgebase article to build the difference between the 226 gas engines and the 301's. I'd be willing to help build the topic for the 226 although there's a lot that I don't know. I don't know much at all about the 301's

No, the gas or diesel engine is different from a 190 to an XT. The fuel pump on the diesel is calibrated to a higher fuel delivery on the XT to go along with the turbocharger. Both Diesels are 301 cid and pretty much the same, other than oil cooler. The gas 190 used a 265 cid, the XT gas used a 301.

Ok,   I said it wrong.  It is a 190xt engine.  Is it the same as the 190xt III?   It has turbo?

Late series 3's had a different injection pump with an advance for better starting. Any series 3 I've seen had an AirResearch TO-4 turbo instead of a Thompson/Rajay turbo.
