Finally got our corn head home for the narrow rows.  It is a newer gleaner head and it doesnt sit right on our R72.  The bottom of the throat doesnt line up with the bottom of the header throat.  Is there some kind of adapter that we need?  The dealer we bought it from didnt mention anything else we would need.  Thanks!!

If your R72 does not have lateral tilt the. You can either modify the head to fit your combine or adapt the combine to fit the head. If you also have a grain head then I would recommend adapting the head. If you post the serial numbers of your machine and head I can get the part numbers for the adapter kits.

You will need 2- 71379541 which are the blocks for the sides of the throat to close the gap, also have to un bolt the top plate and move it down to the bottom set of holes.  If you have any questions you can call me at 800-996-2937.

My cousin from the dealership got back with me on the part numbers for your conversion.

To adapt the for head to fit on your combine you will need to "Move header top truss to non-Smarttrac position using parts below. (2) - 71379541 - Non-Smarttrac Guides (1) - 71383723 - Shield/Filler (1) - 71383719 - Stiffener He said the price for the parts if they ordered them would be around $450.00 plus freight to your location or picked in Watseka, IL |
