Acquired a 7000 over the weekend and the power director lever in the rt side of the trans is stuck and can't switch gears anyone have some ideas where to start. Also drained the oil since it was milky and found an oring in the pan as well as alot of sludge and a very dirty filter

A model 7000 with a Power Director on the right side of the transmission ?? There is no such thing on a model 7000 Power Shift and that's all they made. Are we talking about a black belly 7000 with the "T" handle shift lever to the right of the seat??

If it's a black belly tractor, you can't shift the power shift lever from low range with the clutch pedal down. They are designed to always start the load in the low range. Maroon tractors could start the load in any of three power shift ranges.

It's a red belly and maybe I'm not explaining what it is properly as I'm used to 100 series and down but it's the lever to a cable to a lever running into the rt side of the torque housing for the 3 range shift

the range lever runs down to this lever going into either the valve body or torque housing. It was an auction mistake lol couldn't get there to see prior and owner stated everything worked fine until it sat for a few yrs and thought the range cable was siezed...apparently not the actual issue

Unhook the cable behind the batteries and clamp a vise grips on the lever and see if it will move. Three positions low-medium-high. If it won't move, remove the valve assembly and figure out what's wrong.

Yes. The whole valve body comes off as one unit. If you are careful, what is wrong with the detent mechanism, may allow you to not have to do a complete disassembly and reuse the old gaskets. I'd loosen every bolt a couple of turns loose and tap all around the valve body with a hammer to try and get the gasket to let go and not tear.
