L16M casting number??

An acquaintance has what he thinks is a D-10 or D-12.   He can't read the serial #and the casting number he found on the block is L16M.  He was looking for an AMxxxx
number but didn't find one anywhere.  The tractor is 1000 miles from me and he hasn't sent pictures yet.  Anyone have a clue what that Casting # belongs to?
