Can anybody tell me the correct oil to use in the transmission & Final Drives of a 1959 HD6E. I have heard various oils to use including 80-90wt. gear oil, 30wt. motor oil, 85-140 wt. gear oil, what is recomended.???

Might be time to invest in a service manual. My 7G at least had a lubricant chart on the steering filter cover so I knew where to start.
My finals take 80/90, the same should be in yours, my trans/bevel gear takes Type A ATF(using Dexron), I believe yours will use 50wt motor oil.
