190XT power director bushing

   after a few moths of delay im ready to get my 67 190xt back together I got the new bushing in and the front casting of the PD off I am wondering if there is a tolerance range for that bushing .001-.003 ?  or does it need to be as tight to the shaft it rides on as possible?  thanks
