I was stopped by a Sheriff's Deputy once when disking a field late one night. he told me that a neighbor called and complained about the noise. I told him that those people haven't heard noise yet as I unhooked the disk! the Deputy told me that he was afraid i'd say that and also told me he wasn't going to shut me down, that he was only making contact so the people behind him could see him there doing so. I went home with the tractor, pulled the muffler and put a straight pipe on it, then went back to the field and continued disking! oh...did I mention that I had to put protective hearing devise on? I think they got the hint, as I never received any more contacts for farming late nights!
