This afternoon. Included on each tractor was emptying and cleaning their gascolater bowls. On my original 185 when I replaced the bowl loosely and let it fill before tightening I was surprised to see it not much more than dripping! I removed the bowl to see a very anemic flow. Long story shortened I removed the shut off valve assembly from the unit and blew it out with air, it was plugged severely. Moral? It's the simple routine maintenance that is time well spent!

Good to see you posting on here again, Captain. You are correct - take care of the simple, routine maintenance and you will prevent more serious problems down the road.

Routine maintenance.......? Never heard of it! LOL! Seriously, I do put forth a gallant effort towards maintenance, but sometimes it gets put by the wayside. And as the others have said, don't be being a stranger on here. Post often! Darrel

Being a pilot, I'd say there is a good chance you pay more attention to things then most of us. Good to see your post!

'routine' maintenance...hahaha..
We all KNOW what should be done, but I'll bet everyone here has a dozen 'gators in the swamp' and too many 'irons in the fire' to actually do 'routine' maintence. I still have 2 barrels of oil and a filter to put into a D-14...only been 3 months... I'd do it this week but wife who SWORE she'd never have another yard sale, is having one next saturday..it'll take me all week to move the 'stuff', setup 3 carports and I won't see a nickel from the event. gads, I'm tired already...
