How does oil from the power director compartment travel to the hydraulic pump compartment and back. In changing this oil I found that I had to drain both compartments but the oil fill is only in the power director compartment. The oil doesn't seem to flow on it's own through a port between the compartments. I had to run the tractor to transfer the oil and get to the right level on the dipstick.

There are internal passages and they are small and slow. Whenever changing that oil, refill with the correct total amount and let it sit and idle for a few minutes to allow the oil to seek its proper level inside.

Thank You Dr Allis. If I ever tear it down to fix the 2nd gear jumping out problem I'll be looking at it in detail.
