Have any of you guys bought a genuine AGCO fuel pump for a 175 in the past few weeks? I bought one about 10 days ago. It lasted about 4 hours. I called my parts man and ask "do you remember that fuel pump I got from you the other day?" He says "yeah, let me guess, it quit working. " I ask why he guessed that so quickly, he said all 4 that I've sold in the last 3 weeks failed. So, maybe it's a coincidence, but maybe it's a bad lot of pumps. I did notice it was made in Mexico. Just thought I'd throw that out there. So if you bought one and it fails dont be surprised.....

Does AGCO have a recall process? In this particular case, is there anyway to find out what is the issue?

agco does not make these of course - we source from many places,,, as do they,, one should find why it 'failed' . Old ones fail  the diaphragm of course and can dump fuel in the oil.
Just about every new pump that 'fails' has a piece of foreign material under one of the check valves. 99% of the time it is a piece of the 'olive' or line seal that peeled off and went through the pump and lodged under the valve seat.  Use air to blow back both ways and usually you can then hear the squawk of the pump as the lever is operated and it will work again.
When told "it's not the money,it's the principle", remember, it's always the money..

When I installed it, I thought it was a bit odd that I never could get the hand primer to pump any fuel, even bumping the starter to get the cam lobe in the right position. Luckily it started on its own and was pumping fuel at least for about 4 hours of run time. When I took the pump off the arm had a very soft feel to it. Like half the resistance it should have.
