any guesses on the price of a rebuild for a generator off a D17 gas? i pulled mine off to take in this week, i'm just fishing for prices now before i get hit with the real thing.
any guesses on prices for a replacement? how bout converting to alternator?

I HAD A COMPLETE REBUILD ON MY D14 GEN. AND IT WAS $100.00 BUT STILL CHEEPER THEN ONE FROM A PARTS HOUSE. WE HAVE A GOOD STARTER/GEN. SHOP AT BOWLINGREEN MO.

I had the one off of my D17 4 done a year ago for 50 bucks. They went through it and put new brushes/bearing etc. in it and fixed whatever was wrong and that was it. It was repainted or anything, but that didn't bother me for the price. Big shop down in Milwaukee area that did it for me.

mine is going to a fairly popular/busy/reputable shop a couple towns north of me, so hopefully mine is in that ball park....i can handle $100 if it fixes the charging, or lack of, on my tractor.
so i got the hydraulic leak fixed, now i'll get the electrical issue fixed.....sounds like a good time to sell!
