Thanks Guys, We debated on orange but decided to leave it yellow. My son painted it, PJSoMd, we still use it on a few jobs. He had the decals made based on pictures and measurements from the original, he did a nice job on it!

Nice job looks good , only thing is track looks a little tight, should be some sag in track over top carrier roller. about 1" or so on each side of center

Yes, super job, looks great!.We use cat yellow for our AC yellow if it needs to be yellow and AC orange if it needs to be orange (cause as woodbutch says "it's purtier"). We were using the valspar AC orange from Tractor Supply but they took it off the shelf to comply with California air emmisions rules. So we went into stealth mode and got some shipped out from the east coast so we can finish painting. So for woodbutch I thought I woud post these AC orange work in progress pictures of a 1955 HD6B were restoring for our collection. We also have a HD6E that will get yellow and a HD6EP coming that will stay yellow

For some reason my dozer is yellow over the orignal orange, almost flat orange(maybe oxidized),but PBS definately has done great job with paint and restore.

nice looking machines, Are they strictly for restoration or going to be worked? I am considering repainting my HD16 but that is quite a project and then i would be afraid to use it lol.

I am curious about the age of the tractor. I have a 1961 HD6E with a 6000 engine. Could you please share?

It appears to be a 1966. It does appear to be a later model due to the seat and air cleaner and would have a 6000 engine. Nice tractor.

Those are both incredible machines. You hardly ever see a restored dozer like that or at least around here. It's good to see some one giving them a new look on life. I am now really jealous. LOL!
The only thing like that I have to brag about is unfortunately an all origional John Deere 350C, please try to forgive me, but I would take one of those off your hands in a heartbeat if you guys decide to give them away :)
PS. Welcome to the forum HD6 Merv I myself cannot help you with much on the construction forum but if you need to know something about the Unstyled WC's I should be able to assist you. But if I'm not smart enough there are plenty of people on here who are. Once again Welcome and Good Luck.

It looks great Parran. I finally got that B running that I picked up from you a while back. I'll have to post some pictures on the tractor side. Take Care, Rick W. |
