D17 Series 1, power director and hydraulic fluid

   I just drained the power director and hydraulic fluid.

Power director - also took off small drain pan to clean (bottom of pan was nasty) - fluid was just like chocolate milk, that probably isn't good.  Going to refill now with Rural King Transmission/Hydraulic oil.

Hydraulic fluid - this drain had a magnet on the drain plug and it was covered in metal goo/particles but fluid didn't seem too bad but still filling with new.  I stuck my finger up and scrapped the bottom of the pan and it came out black, should I try to remove this cover also?  Seems like the rod connected to the snap coupler is under a lot of tension so I am wondering if I should attempt it.  (seems like I should be able to measure the location of threaded rod that his hooked to the pan I want to take off and loosen things up to get that rod off)??

	Move TB lever to top notch, then loosen the nuts on linkage. When you go back, adjust nuts until you feel spring pressure at the last two notches. MACK

	Thanks Mack, I have never used my TB lever (or my tractor for that matter yet) but I get resistance about 1/2 way up the quadrant as it was before I took the cover off. Should readjust like you say, just tension at the top of the quadrant or the last 2 notches? (actually the very last 2 notches at the top of the quadrant I can't push the lever up that high, hard stop. Got it off! Can I use rubber/cork gasket on both covers when I put them back on? The one I just took off looks really thin and fiberous.
